Encouragement

A few months ago, someone encouraged me to start keeping a list of things I like about myself. This is because I'm not usually my biggest fan, and I have a huge list of things that I don't like about myself. So I've been working on this for what seems like a long time for such a short list (see what I mean?). I've posted some of these things on Facebook too, not really for other people's benefit, but for mine. Publishing it really puts it out there and makes it a little more real.

Here's what I've got so far, in no particular order...
  • my eyes are blue
  • I am 1/4 Canadian
  • I have empathy and compassion for other people
  • I can write in a straight line on plain paper
  • I can read music
  • my most common nickname is Ames
  • I like how my ears are pierced
  • I like my handwriting
  • I'm good with names
  • I taught myself how to snowboard
  • jet noise makes me happy
  • I have an appreciation for nature
  • I am not a fair-weather fan
  • I enjoy reading
  • I think before I speak
  • I like a variety of music
  • I'm good with animals
  • I'm open to discovery
  • I like sports
  • I can do crossword puzzles in pen
  • I don't run from rain
  • I notice the soundtrack during movies
  • I am loyal
  • I remember birthdays
  • I'm good with directions
  • I have ambition, even if I sometimes lack motivation
  • little things mean a lot to me

It's still a work in progress...as am I.

Amy that is such a wonderful idea. It's a challenge for me to come up with things that I like about myself too. Sounds like you have a GREAT start!

I am jealous of most of these qualities. And don't forget to add "I rock" to the list.
