I joined a fantasy football league this year. I don't know a lot about how the program works, but I do know a thing or two about football.
One thing I do know -- it makes all the other games much more enjoyable to watch. I like being able to cheer for individual players. Take for instance, the Patriots / Jets game this week. I really have no love for the Pats and the Jets I don't care one way or the other. But I needed LT from the Jets to do well and I needed Wes Welker and Randy Moss from the Patriots to do well. Other than that, I really had no interest in the game, and I probably wouldn't have watched any of it if it wasn't for my fantasy players.
Fortunately, I don't have anyone on my fantasy team who plays for the Cowboys. I don't think I could cheer for something like that, even if it did benefit me.
I'm hoping by watching more football this year, I'll be better prepared next year. I'm not looking to win the league, I'm just looking to have fun. And so far, it's working. Go Team Skywalker!
