A Favorite Big Sister Moment

When I was in first grade and Anne was in kindergarten, she cut her hand while trying to cut an apple and had to get stitches. Her stitches were in that soft part of your hand between your thumb and your pointer finger. Because that's an awkward and sensitive spot, most of her hand was wrapped up in gauze.

She asked me to walk to her to the classroom door because no one would make fun of her if her big sister was with her.

And I was happy, proud, and thrilled to, because I've always loved being a big sister.

Love you Anne.

Love you too, Amy.

I still remember that...and guess what...they waited until after you left to gawk and point. Nice.
