An Honor

As perhaps you read on my sister's blog, our Great-Grandma passed away yesterday afternoon at the young age of 99.

I know that she loved me. I know that she loved my sisters and my parents. And I especially know that she loved Aliyah and Xander. I mean really, how could you not? She would just watch them and light up and laugh at the funny things they do. That's where all her attention would be and you could just see how much she loved having her family around her. She was so proud to have two great-great-grandchildren and would tell anyone who would listen.

She was an amazing lady and it has been such an privilege to have her in my life and be her great-granddaughter. It's not an opportunity that many people get and I'm so grateful to my parents for including her in our lives. It really has been so special to have that relationship with her.

I love that every holiday was special to her and she would always send a card. She always remembered my birthday. I still have the card she gave me for Christmas last year.

I know that this is so much better for her. She's with her husband and the rest of her family, and Grandpa Low, and all those friends she had missed for so many years. I really feel that she's happy.

Gram, thank you so much for everything you gave me, every memory we made together, every bit of laughter we shared. I love you and I thank you for loving me, and making sure that I knew you loved me every second of every day. It's truly been an honor. Until we meet again...
