For the last year, I have been participating in a program called DBT. Once a week, I meet with a skills group. There are three different modules, or classes, and the program is designed to have you go through each module two times. There are two group leaders who teach us skills to help us manage emotions, distress, and help us interact with our lives. The majority of people who go through this group are emotionally sensitive people.
Today I started my third module for the second time through. I'm scheduled to graduate in April. I can't believe how fast it's flown by. I remember being so overwhelmed when I first started last March and I thought I'd never get through it. Now I don't know what I would do without this.
So I just wanted to post this because today is an important day for me. I have seven weeks left before I graduate. I feel really good about that. It's amazing how much your life can change in a year.
I wouldn't do it justice if you asked me to explain the mechanics of it, so here are some links to DBT sites if you're curious.

Hey Amy, I hope that you don't mind that I peek at your blog from time to time. The clinic I used to work with used DBT for our clients (eating disorders but most had significant anxiety, depression, mood disorders, etc). IT IS AMAZING!! I wish more people had the opportunity to be exposed to it. I benefitted a ton from just sitting through some of their classes and group sessions. That's awesome that it has helped you so much....
